Stewardship Advisory Commission

The mission of the Stewardship Advisory Commission is to form in each parishioner a sense of living as a disciple through active participation in worship, word, community, and service.

The Stewardship Advisory Commission will continue to provide insights and develop strategies to assure the greatest possible welcome and orientation to new parishioners.  Knowing  that many new parishioners arrive at IHM ready to become fully engaged in parish life, the new parishioner welcome, orientation, and mentoring needs to capitalize on this desire and to immerse new parishioners in parish life to as great extent as is possible.  Part of this year's attention will be paid to the incorporation of Living Your Strengths in new parishioner orientation.

This will include creating an official process for welcoming parishioners as they enter the parish.  To achieve this goal a sub-committee is being formed to look at the different types of welcome gatherings that have been happening and determine what we will continue to offer and gather the necessary resources.

The Stewardship Advisory Commission will support this sub-committee, although the actual end product will come from the sub-committee and not directly from the commission.

My church is composed of people like me
I will help make it what it is.

It will be friendly, if I am.

Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them.

It will do great work, if I work.

It will bring other people into its worship and fellowship,
if I invite and bring them.

It will be a church of loyalty and love,
of fearlessness and faith,
and a church with a noble spirit,
if I, who make it what it is,
am filled with these same things.

Therefore, with the help of God,
I shall dedicate myself to the task
of being all the things
that I want my church to be.
