Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish has two primary purposes.  The first of these is to work with the pastor toward the ideals set forth in the Parish Mission Statement and to enable our parish family to do the same.

The second primary purpose of Council is to help the pastor be aware of parishioners' interests and concerns, gained from solicited information regarding all aspects of parish life so as to make appropriate recommendations to aid in the pastor's decision-making process.

Some of the functions the Parish Pastoral Council performs include the following:

  • Sponsors and oversees the development of the long-range Pastoral Plan, insuring that it reflects parishioner input on parish life;

·      Makes evaluations and recommendations on issues brought for consideration by the pastor or staff.

·      Makes evaluations and recommendations on any topics which concern any given commission or group but are broader than the scope of that commission.

The IHM Parish Pastoral Council is comprised of sixteen members who serve a three-year term.  Council members serve overlapping terms, and new members are discerned each year. To view a photograph of current Council members, please Click Here.

Council meetings are held monthly, usually on the third Monday of the month.  Click Here to view the basic agenda for our meetings.

Parishioners are welcome to attend Council meetings, and an open forum is part of every meeting.  During this period, parishioners may voice an opinion or present a concern.
