Health Ministry Advisory Commission

 The focus of the parish health ministry is on prevention/health promotion and the integration of the body, mind and spirit rather than "hands-on" physical care. This ministry is not a substitute for medical care, community health nursing or social agencies, but works in collaborative partnership with these disciplines to offer educational opportunities, a communication network and resources to IHM parishioners.

The Health Ministry Advisory Commission, with the Parish Nurse, integrates existing caring programs with new initiatives to create a holistic response, such as educational events focusing on prevention of disease and injury, or screening and appropriate interventions in illness or brokenness. These are designed to foster well-being, regardless of whether the illness or injury is cured.

The mission of the commission is to involve the entire parish community in carrying out the healing ministry of Jesus through care of the whole person - mind, body and spirit.

Meetings are at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of every other month, except June, July and August.
